CATBALOGAN CITY – The SSU-Innovation & Technology Support Office (SSU-ITSO) through Engr. Nikko Ardel P. Floretes, Adrian U. Gadin and Dr. Vivian L. Moya were chosen to become part of a 6-month Remote Mentorship Program launched by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and Enabling Innovation Environment (EIE) Hub which commenced on September (21).

The WIPO-EIE remote mentoring for ITSOs/ Technology Transfer Organizations (TTOs) focuses on assisting a select number of ITSOs/TLOs in the Philippines with skills and knowledge in the areas of IP management and technology commercialization.

SSU-ITSO was potentially selected to participate on the intensive remote mentoring as it  met the requirements needed to qualify, such as (1) submission of a new invention / technology disclosure by completing the Technology Summary table together with a prior art search report, or (2) resubmission of an invention / technology disclosure summaries previously sent to WIPO in 2020.

“Since your respective ITSO have IP management skills and a viable technology that could be prepared and polished for commercialization, please avail yourself the opportunity to be mentored by WIPO,” stated on the e-mail Engr. Nikko Floretes received for SSU-ITSO.

Dr. Moya and her team will work closely with the selected TTOs for six (6) months in areas such as technology and market assessment, patentability, IP protection strategies, as well as exploring avenues for commercialization.
